After thrilling audiences with their unbeatable sporting performances at the Summer Olympics in Paris, they were given the celebration they deserved in the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig: the Olympic Ball in August 2024 was both a reception and a formal farewell for Leipzig’s athletes. The participants of the 2024 Olympic Games had just returned. The Paralympic athletes were about to leave for Paris. That evening, everyone swapped their sportswear for evening gowns and fine threads. Olympic icons, elite and junior athletes and representatives from politics, business, society and the media celebrated top-class sport in Leipzig. A big stage for award-winning marketing
The Effie Awards Germany 2024 will also take advantage of this unique ambience. They will draw the attention of the German marketing world to Leipzig on 13 November. Germany’s most successful marketing campaigns will be honoured with gold, silver and bronze awards and the Grand Effie 2024 will be presented. The German Association of Communications Agencies (GWA) has been awarding the Effie Germany in ten categories since 1981. The highly acclaimed evening gala will be held in the KONGRESSHALLE for the second time. The Effie Congress will take place there during the day. The 2024 gold winners will present their campaigns and talk about the goals, strategies and challenges of their award-winning communications solutions.Leipzig Opera Ball
Red carpet and a flurry of camera flashes
Once a year, the red carpet is rolled out on Augustusplatz and celebrities are captured in a flurry of camera flashes for the Leipzig Opera Ball. Themed Great, Britain!, a UK-inspired night of glamour and British elegance will be celebrated on 8 November 2024. In the magnificent ballroom of Leipzig Opera and in the reception and lounge area, guests will enjoy high art and culture – including the finest culinary delights and typical specialities from the other side of the Channel. The Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Leipzig Opera ensemble and the Leipzig Ballet will perform the opening and the first waltzes. The evening is also dedicated to a good cause: guests will support social projects in the region by taking part in a raffle in aid of the Leipzig Helps Children foundation.The prestige of the event is underlined by the partnership with Porsche Leipzig. The main raffle prize provided by the sponsor is a stunning Porsche. So it is no surprise that the draw – complete with a celebrity “lucky fairy” – attracts a lot of attention. In recent years, this role has been taken on by tennis player Angelique Kerber, actor Sonja Kirchberger, TV detective Richy Müller and Hollywood star Patrick Dempsey.

Anniversary of the Golden Hen
TV show at HALLE:EINS venue
This year’s Goldene Henne (Golden Hen) awards will once again see stars and starlets descend on Leipzig. Germany’s biggest audience award will be presented for the 30th time on 15 November in HALLE:EINS at Leipzig’s exhibition grounds. The magazine Super Illu and the public broadcaster Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) honour the most popular stars of the year with the Golden Hen awards. The show will be hosted by Barbara Schöneberger and Florian Silbereisen. The multi-functional exhibition hall will be transformed into a glittering backdrop for the anniversary show, complete with red carpet and national media coverage. After all, the show will be broadcast live on MDR television. It is also something of an anniversary for HALLE:EINS, because exactly ten years ago, in 2014, the Golden Hens were awarded here for the first time after many years in Berlin.
